IT CAN HAPPEN TO ANYONE.
Times are tough, the economy is in a slump, hundreds of people are being laid off from work daily while others still seek jobs. Bills pile up, payments get behind, and thousands of families are losing their homes to foreclosure across the country. As things continue to spiral down word another problem is rising to the surface and becoming a growing concern for Gnome owners everywhere.
There was a time not so long ago when owning a Gnome was just another part of the American dream. An over inflated housing market lead millions to buy homes with large plush lawns and bountiful gardens. For many of these people Gnome ownership was the next logical step in making the dream a reality. Soon lawns and gardens overflowed with the Gnome populous; sitting merrily on toadstools, fishing from ponds, maintaining the flower beds with their picks, shovels and other assorted gardening implements. Owning a Gnome had become the right of all citizens, no longer just a dream. or so we thought.
As many of these same people now face losing their homes, the question arises of what to do with all these Gnomes being displaced from the lawns and gardens of America. Many Gnome owners turn a blind eye to this problem and often leave the Gnomes to fend for themselves - though once wild, modern Gnomes have been domesticated by years of tending lawns for humans, and can no longer survive on their own in the wild. Left on their own, these Gnomes become a menance to their communities, begging passer by's for spare mushrooms or trowels. Some of the more cunning Gnomes will form small bands, working together for survival - digging up vegetable and herb gardens in the middle of the night, or hollowing out old oak trees in the hopes of opening a cookie bakery. Many a neighborhood across the country are gripped with fear every time they hear the singing chants of a band of wild Gnomes ringing out in the night.
It is not too late to help.
At OutOfWorkLawnGnome.com, we are struggling to bring awareness to this problem facing our nation.
Currently we are working on passing legislation through the government that would make it illegal to abandon Gnomes and establish Lawn Centers across the country where Gnomes can be dropped off and cared for, until a new permanent garden can be found for them.
We also have a Gnome adoption program in place where we try to find lawns and gardens for displaced Gnomes to finally call home.
Even with our current achievements, we have a long road ahead of us, and we need your help and support towards our goals.
